God has gifted me to help others as a Life Coach and Mentor. Let me share a little of my life story with you so you can get to know me.

I have been ministering full-time with The Navigators for over 35 years (click here to view The Navigators 75th anniversary One-to-One publication).  During that time, I have had extensive experience as a life coach and mentor, especially in helping others establish strong spiritual foundations in life.  I first met

Sharon A. Turner

Life Coaching and Mentoring

met The Navigators as a freshman in college at the University of Northern Iowa.  I was 18 and still identifying who I was and how I would spend the next years of my life.  Ellen DeGeus was a high school teacher who had been helped to grow in her spiritual life by another individual and through the simple illustrations like the Wheel (click here to see a copy of the Wheel illustration).

Ellen began to come to campus and meet with me weekly to help me grow in my spiritual life.  During that year I learned how to share the Gospel with my friends, memorize key verses that are still foundational for my convictions, and deepen my devotional life.  Ellen passed away with cancer some years ago, but the investment she made in my life has helped me to help others with greater passion and effectiveness throughout the past 35 some years.

If you want to learn more about The Navigators, click here to go to our national website. It was in 1933 that The Navigators officially became a mission organization, and through one man’s life touching another man’s life, formed the beginning of a dynamic ministry of investing through discipleship in the lives of individuals who would affect the lives of others.  They called it “multiplication”.

God brought Ellen under the influence of The Navigators in the early 60’s and she helped me to grow.  It was in the late 60’s that I went back to Cedar Falls, worked near the University of Northern Iowa and teamed in ministry with The Navigators on campus. Since then God has given me over 12 years of ministry on college campuses, another 20 in metro Chicago, and now I have been in metro Detroit for 10 years.

God has used me and The Navigators to bring about life-change in many others through faithfulness to His Word and through doing ministry by investing in individuals and building community through small groups.
